How to Recognize and Report Phishing Emails

Stay Vigilant Against Phishing Attacks

Phishing emails are one of the most common cybersecurity threats. They attempt to trick you into revealing sensitive information or installing malware.

Signs of a Phishing Email

  • Suspicious sender address: The email address may look similar to a legitimate one but with slight variations
  • Urgent or threatening language: “Your account will be closed” or “Immediate action required”
  • Unexpected attachments or links: Never click links or open attachments from unknown senders
  • Poor grammar and spelling: Legitimate company emails are usually well-written
  • Requests for personal information: No legitimate company will ask for passwords via email
  • Too good to be true: Offers that seem too good to be true usually are

What to Do If You Receive a Phishing Email

  1. Do not click any links or download attachments
  2. Do not reply to the email
  3. Click the Report Phishing button in Outlook (if available)
  4. Forward the email as an attachment to security@alphadev.com.sa
  5. Delete the email from your inbox

If You Accidentally Clicked a Suspicious Link

  1. Disconnect from the internet immediately
  2. Contact IT Support right away
  3. Change your passwords
  4. Run a security scan on your computer

Remember: IT will never ask for your password via email or phone. When in doubt, report it!
