Fix Common Windows 11 Problems Yourself

Before contacting IT Support, try these quick fixes for common issues.

My computer is running slow

1. Close unused applications and browser tabs
2. Restart your computer (saves all work first)
3. Check for Windows updates (Settings > Windows Update)
4. Run Disk Cleanup: Search “Disk Cleanup” in Start menu

My internet connection is not working

1. Check if Wi-Fi is enabled (click network icon in taskbar)
2. Restart your computer
3. Forget and reconnect to the Wi-Fi network
4. If others also have issues, it may be a company-wide outage

An application is not responding

1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager
2. Find the unresponsive application in the list
3. Select it and click End Task
4. Reopen the application

My microphone or camera is not working

1. Check physical privacy shutters on your laptop
2. Check app permissions: Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera/Microphone
3. Restart the application you’re trying to use
4. Test in another application to isolate the issue
